#davidwalshblog on IRC
I've had some great experiences on the #mootools and #cakephp IRC chat rooms. I've gotten help when I've desperately needed it and have been able to return the favor by giving tips to others. With that spirit in mind, I've created the #davidwalshblog IRC chat room.
My audience is very diverse so expect to see topics in #davidwalshblog ranging from MooTools to jQuery to PHP to CSS and so on. Please sign on any time you'd like! If you need help or feel like helping others, #davidwalshblog will be a great place to do so. Of course you'll see me quite a bit, but you may even see special guest drop-ins like CSS-Tricks' Chris Coyier, Eric Wendelin, Christoph Pojer, and other Moo devs.
I will act as moderator along with super-helpful #mootools room members Garrick Cheung and Jabis. A special thanks to both of them. Remember, however, that when you need help with difficult MooTools issues, be sure to hit #mootools as well!
So why wait? Join the fun now! And if you don't have an IRC client, please support Pidgin!
![Creating Scrolling Parallax Effects with CSS]()
Introduction
For quite a long time now websites with the so called "parallax" effect have been really popular.

![I’m an Impostor]()
This is the hardest thing I've ever had to write, much less admit to myself. I've written resignation letters from jobs I've loved, I've ended relationships, I've failed at a host of tasks, and let myself down in my life. All of those feelings were very...
![CSS Transforms]()
CSS has become more and more powerful over the past few years and CSS transforms are a prime example. CSS transforms allow for sophisticated, powerful transformations of HTML elements. One or more transformations can be applied to a given element and transforms can even be animated...
![Image Reflections with CSS]()
Image reflection is a great way to subtly spice up an image. The first method of creating these reflections was baking them right into the images themselves. Within the past few years, we've introduced JavaScript strategies and CANVAS alternatives to achieve image reflections without...
Just a note, the links should not contain the # when linking to an IRC channel.
@Robbo: Updated — thank you!
You know what Dave? You should hold something like a weekly class or so (Like Chris’s Classes “screencasts”) in the IRC Channel. You, Garrick, or Jabis could tutor the audiences! And you can announce the next class here in the blog, or even make a poll for what the next class’s topic should be! What’cha think?
For those of us already on IRC you should state what server all these channels are on! ;D/
