The New Divi 2.5 Will Save You Hours of Work

A couple of months ago, Elegant Themes released version 2.4 of their flagship theme, Divi. Divi 2.5 takes productivity and time saving to the next level as it includes new, exciting, and highly useful features.

Divi 2.5's Exciting New Features

Whenever a new feature is introduced, you often wonder why no one ever thought of it before, and how you ever managed to get along without it. Themes are not created overnight, of course. They evolve over time, and through a succession of updates and upgrades they improve. Divi 2.5 takes everything a step closer. In doing so, several features that you might wonder how you could ever have done without have been incorporated.

Right Click Options

Divi uses a building block or a modular approach. Managing your work can be cumbersome at times. A new feature that offers the ability to right-click on modules and the ability of the Builder to accept hotkey commands, gives you rapid access to existing settings together with the settings that have been newly integrated into the Divi Builder.

When you are in the midst of page building activities this feature, including the ability to rapidly undo an edit or preview work before saving it, is a genuine time saver.

The Divi Role Editor - Control What Your Clients can do

The new Divi Role Editor gives you a better way to work with your clients. This new tool is one of several UX improvements that will ship with version 2.5. A large number of Divi users are freelancers and smaller web design agencies. These users have at times expressed frustration at having to share control over the Divi Builder with their clients. When you put your heart and soul into creating an awesome web design and your client intentionally or unintentionally messes it up, it can give you a first-class headache.

Those days are now over. With the Role Editor you can share items that can be further edited, or lock them, in which case you retain full editing rights. You can enable, disable, edit, or customize options, and establish the roles for your website administrators, editors, authors, and contributors. All in all, this new Divi 2.5 feature should help to keep designer-client relationships on an even level.

Divi Live Preview - See the Changes you Make Right inside the Divi Builder

The Live Preview feature enables you to build a website more efficiently than ever by reducing the number of steps in the page building process, and reducing the number of those actions that are not completely necessary. If you have completed an activity and are ready to save it and add it to the library, it takes but a click to do so.

On the other hand, you may want to preview your work to see if there is anything that needs to be changed, deleted, or added. Live Preview allows you to see the changes that you make in real time in the Divi Builder. By doing so, you retain better control over your design efforts, since this feature can be used in conjunction with another new capability, the undo function. Live Preview will save you the time and effort involved in having to redo past mistakes at the last minute when you are about to launch your website.

Builder History with Undo and Copy Paste Shortcuts

Divi Undo, Redo & History is a powerful new feature that has been built into version 2.5. As you are building your website, every step you take is recorded. At the completion of the design phase, or during any step in the design phase, a history of your actions has been recorded. You can go back to any step you choose and make the appropriate changes or corrections. You can undo steps or activities and/or redo them. This is somewhat similar to the restore function in a computer operating system, but it is much more powerful.

Web designers will definitely be pleased with the improvements and added features this Elegant Themes flagship theme offers once they have experienced what Divi 2.5 brings to the table. The new live preview and edit feature is itself a huge time saver.

The lead developers of this premium theme have set a number of very impressive goals toward producing a framework that will serve as a base for all of their products.
